The company Binter Canarias will offer a direct connection between Agoncillo airport (Logroño) and Gran Canaria airport, with 31 flights between June and September and the possibility of total connectivity with a single ticket to the rest of the Canary Islands terminals such as Lanzarote.
According to the Government of La Rioja in a statement, the company proposes to operate 31 frequencies and guarantee the availability of 8,184 seats, between the months of June and September; these are 5 frequencies and 1,424 seats more than the minimum requirements requested by the tender document.
The offer of operational and connectivity conditions made by Binter Canarias, through the company Gestión Aeronáutica Integral Canaria S.L, includes a direct connection between Logroño-Agoncillo Airport and Gran Canaria Airport.
Also a link, via a single ticket, direct baggage check-in to the final destination and connection protection, with the rest of the airport terminals of the Canary archipelago (Tenerife North-Ciudad de La Laguna; Tenerife South; Lanzarote-César Manrique Airport; La Palma; Fuerteventura, El Hierro and La Gomera).
These data appear in the valuation report of the offer received within the bidding procedure for the new air route between La Rioja and the Canary Islands, which has been published today, the 26th, on the Procurement Portal of the Government of La Rioja.
The Riojan Executive has promoted this tender with the aim of improving the connectivity of Riojans with one of the main sun and beach destinations in our country, as well as allowing the arrival of international and Canarian tourists to the Community to benefit our tourism, hospitality and commercial sector.
The tender document establishes that the contract with the successful bidder will have a two-year duration, which will be extendable for two more, up to a maximum of four; the economic offer of the bidder amounts to 538,450 euros and the aircraft have a minimum capacity of 132 seats per journey, two more than required.
The contract includes the execution of sponsorship actions to increase the positioning, notoriety and recognition of the La Rioja tourism brand in the Canary Islands market, through advertising supports and promotional actions linked to the air travel environment, taking advantage of the dissemination, impact and segmentation capacity offered by the activity of the successful airline.
