The Insular Association of Hoteliers and Apartment Owners of Lanzarote (Asolan) has requested that the Cabildo of Lanzarote expedite the processing and approval of the Regulation Governing Sensitive Areas for the taxi service, in the next plenary session.

The employers' association emphasizes the importance of the text being addressed in the next plenary session, scheduled for December 19, as otherwise, the island will face a new period of high demand without this essential tool to improve mobility.

We positively value the work done so far, but it is necessary that the final stretch of processing is not delayed and that the Regulation can be approved before Christmas,” said the president of Asolan, Susana Pérez.

Over the coming weeks, Lanzarote is preparing for a significant increase in travel, both by tourists and residents, with a greater arrival of flights, as well as meals, dinners, and gatherings typical of these dates.

Asolan recalls that the Sensitive Areas Regulation is a long-awaited measure that "will allow **balancing the supply and demand of taxis**, especially in areas with a higher concentration of users, preventing incidents that harm the visitor experience, resident mobility, and the destination's image from recurring during periods of high activity—such as the one starting in the coming days."

The employers' association warns that the island cannot afford another high season with long queues at the airport and complaints at the reception desks of accommodation establishments due to the difficulty in getting a taxi.

Therefore, he insists on the importance of this Regulation, as well as the platform taxilanzarote.net moving forward so that Lanzarote has a more efficient, more sustainable mobility model adapted to the real needs of the island, and asks that the process "advance with determination in these last weeks of the year".
