Transavia, the low-cost airline of the Air France-KLM group, has launched a new feature that allows its customers to resell their airline tickets if they cannot use them, according to the tourism news agency hosteltur.

The system has been developed together with the French startup Fairlyne, which has developed the technology necessary to integrate this functionality into the airline's systems. The resale is done without intermediaries, within the Transavia shopping environment.

Tickets that meet certain requirements can be put up for sale again up to one hour before the flight's departure. The ticket holder will receive a partial refund - which can range from 50% of the total amount to the full value of the fees - from the passenger who buys it.

According to the company, this initiative is part of a broader digitization strategy by Transavia, which is incorporating technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning in various operational processes.

One of the highlighted projects includes a new operations management system that allows to anticipate incidents and allocate resources more efficiently. The airline thus contributes to a reduction of emissions and greater punctuality.

In addition, it is updating its Navitaire booking platform to facilitate self-service at airports and simplify the purchase process. An initiative that seeks to "offer a useful option to passengers who cannot travel and improve the company's operational management," explains Nicolas Hénin, Deputy General Manager of Sales and Marketing at Transavia France.
