The Government of the Canary Islands has opened the application period for the Young Rental Bonus 2026-2027, aimed at people between 18 and 35 years old, which includes aid of up to 250 euros per month for a maximum of 24 months, up to reaching 6,000 euros.
The application submission period will be 15 business days, from September 18 to October 8, both inclusive, and it is recommended to carry out the process online through the electronic headquarters of the Government of the Canary Islands.
The program has a budget of 12.8 million euros, of which 10.6 million comes from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda and 2.2 million corresponds to funding from the island councils of Lanzarote and La Graciosa and Tenerife, as detailed by the Executive in a statement this Thursday.
Specifically, Lanzarote and La Graciosa contribute 378,000 euros from unexecuted credit balances from the 2025 call, while the Island Council of Tenerife allocates 1.9 million euros to this call.
The aid is intended to facilitate access to and maintenance of habitual housing for young people with limited income, the note adds.
Among the requirements are being between 18 and 35 years old, residing in Spain, having a rental contract for a dwelling or room in the Canary Islands, and that the annual income corresponding to 2025 does not exceed three times the IPREM.
This limit is raised to four times the IPREM for large families of general category, people with disabilities or victims of terrorism, and to five times for large families of special category and people with a recognized disability equal to or greater than 33%.
The maximum monthly rent that may entitle to aid will depend on the municipality and is set at 900, 750, or 600 euros.
In the case of room rentals, the limits will be 450, 375, or 300 euros, respectively.
The payment of the subsidy will be made on a semi-annual basis, once the payment of the monthly rent has been justified.
When the application has retroactive effects, the aid may be paid at the time of concession if the corresponding receipts are proven.
