In the second quarter of 2025, rental housing ads in the province of Las Palmas published by Idealista.com received an average of 33 contacts before being removed, according to a study by the real estate portal.
Nationally, there are 38 contacts that an advertiser receives before removing the ad.
According to Francisco Iñareta, spokesperson for idealista, “the competition between families to access housing is at an emergency level, especially in large markets.”
Álava is the Spanish province where the most families compete for each rental property that comes on the market, reaching 105 requests per ad on average. It is followed by the provinces of Barcelona (89), Guadalajara (77), Navarra (72) and Tarragona (61).
Above 50 contacts are also the provinces of Lleida (55), Zaragoza (53), Guipúzcoa (52) and Toledo (50). In the Community of Madrid, it stands at 48 families competing for each ad.
On the opposite side are the provinces of Salamanca and Cáceres, with only 10 families. They are followed by Ourense (12), Badajoz (14), Córdoba, Granada and Segovia (with 15 contacts in all 3 cases).
Among the provincial capitals, Vitoria has the record for families interested in each rental, reaching 109 contacts. It is followed by Barcelona (95), Guadalajara (80), Tarragona (75), Pamplona (72) and Lleida (70).
Next, Palma (64), Madrid (44), San Sebastián (41) and Bilbao (41). Valencia (38) and Málaga (38) are at the national average, while Seville (36) and Alicante (30) are below.
On the opposite side are Salamanca and Cáceres, with only 9 families competing for each home, followed by the markets in the cities of Ourense (12), Ceuta, Granada and Segovia (14 families in all 3 cities), while in Córdoba and Badajoz 15 families compete.
