The Government announced this Tuesday in the Council of Ministers the distribution of 1,843 million euros for the Youth Rental Bonus and the 2022-2025 State Housing Plan, of which 97,679,000 euros will go to the Canary Islands, according to the EFE Agency.
Following its approval on January 18, the archipelago is expected to receive 21,200,000 euros spread over 2 years for the Youth Rental Bonus and 76,479,000 euros for the Housing Plan, with the Canary Islands being the seventh Autonomous Community to receive the most funds. A distribution that places Andalusia, Madrid, Catalonia in the first places, with a total of 545 million euros in 2022 alone.
However, the distribution will be confirmed at the Sectoral Housing Conference on March 9 and, according to the Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Raquel Sánchez, this will be the starting point for the autonomous communities to begin to receive and manage the corresponding funds.
"We continue to advance and agree on resources to guarantee access to decent, adequate and affordable housing for citizens," added Sánchez.
The Youth Rental Bonus
Until now, the Government has explained that it is an aid of 250 euros aimed at young people between 18 and 35 years old with a work contract and annual income of less than 23,725 euros. In addition, they must be registered in said home and in a rental regime.
The bonus will be granted per beneficiary and not per home, which will allow thousands of people to benefit from the amount in shared homes, provided that the accommodation does not exceed 600 euros. In addition, it will be valid for a period of two years retroactively from January 1, 2022.
The procedure to apply for it will be carried out through the offices of the Housing department of the respective autonomous communities, but also electronically. However, we will still have to wait to find out when this bonus can be requested, although it is estimated that the communities will begin to manage it regularly within a month and a half to two months.
