The accommodation platform Booking has stated this Tuesday that almost 40% of the accommodations removed from the application for non-compliance with the legislation and having the mandatory registration number, mostly in the Canary Islands, have reappeared in their listings after updating their license number.
In a note, the company assures that more than 1,600 of the 4,093 ads recently removed in Spain, following the requirement of the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs and Agenda 2030, have already been reactivated on the platform.
The reincorporation has occurred after completing the regularization process and including the tourist license number required by local regulations and represents 39.4% of the total ads removed.
Booking, one of the largest booking platforms in the world, announced at the end of June that it had removed 4,093 illegal tourist accommodation ads in Spain, mostly in the Canary Islands, after receiving a request from the Ministry of Social Rights for non-compliance with current legislation on advertising this type of houses.
Ads were also removed in regions such as Asturias, Cantabria, Castilla y León, Navarra, La Rioja and Castilla-La Mancha.
In addition, on July 1, the digital single window came into force in which all short-term accommodations must be registered, which then have to include that registration number in the ads they display on the platforms.
