Bodegas Vega de Yuco once again places Lanzarote wines on the international stage after its outstanding triumph at the International Volcanic Wine Awards 2025, one of the most relevant competitions dedicated to recognizing the uniqueness of wines made on volcanic soils.
This was shared by the Regulatory Council of the Lanzarote Wines PDO, celebrating that the winery has obtained a Gold Medal and a Silver Medal.
Specifically, the jury has awarded the **Gold Medal** to the young Listán Negro red wine **"Esencia Yaiza"**, while the **Silver Medal** has gone to the Malvasía Volcánica on lees **"Princesa Gara"**, "two references that faithfully reflect the character, identity, and quality of Lanzarote's viticulture".
The International Volcanic Wine Awards have as their main objective to highlight the quality, image, and production of wines from volcanic soils around the world, as well as to disseminate their unique organoleptic characteristics. "This recognition represents a significant boost for wineries committed to a unique territory like La Geria and, by extension, for the entire Designation of Origin".
From Bodegas Vega de Yuco, they have thanked the winery and vineyard team, the grape growers, and all their collaborators for this new achievement, highlighting that this award "is the result of the collective effort to continue positioning Lanzarote wines in the international context".
"These awards are another example of the enormous potential of our wines and the excellent work our wineries are doing," said Jorge Rodríguez, president of the **Regulatory Council of the DOP Lanzarote Wines**, emphasizing that these accolades reinforce the external projection of the Designation of Origin.
