The wine sector of Lanzarote celebrates a new success in the Wines from Spain Awards 2025, an international competition that recognizes the excellence of Spanish wines. In this first edition, organized by ICEX/Wines from Spain in collaboration with Mundus Vini, Bodegas El Grifo and Bodega Erupción have been awarded with gold medals.
Bodegas El Grifo obtained gold with its Rosado de Lágrima 2023, while Bodega Erupción was awarded with the same distinction for its Milagro de Magmasía Colección 2022. The competition, held in January 2025, had the participation of 500 wines of high quality, which were evaluated by an international jury composed of tasting experts and a master committee with a global approach.
The awarded wines were protagonists in ProWein 2025, the international fair of the wine sector that was held in Düsseldorf, Germany. During the event, ICEX/Wines from Spain organized an awards ceremony at its official stand and offered an Open Tasting Zone where attendees could discover the winning wines. In addition, an exclusive master class was given to highlight the quality and uniqueness of these references.
Jorge Rodríguez, president of the Regulatory Council, has indicated the pride that these awards represent, "the recognition of El Grifo and Bodega Erupción reaffirms the excellence of Lanzarote wines and their global projection".
These awards reinforced the reputation of the Canary wineries in the international wine scene and underlined the quality of their productions, increasingly valued by experts and consumers around the world.
