The Regulatory Council of the Protected Designation of Origin (DOP) Wines of Lanzarote has celebrated the recognition obtained by its wineries in the 2025 edition of the CINVE International Still Wines Competition.
The contest is one of the most important competitions in the current international wine scene. Still wines are the majority, they do not have any type of wine alcohol added nor a concentration of carbon dioxide greater than four grams.
In total, the island's wines have achieved eight medals: six gold and two silver, reaffirming the excellence and uniqueness of Lanzarote's viticulture.
In the gold category, Bodega Malpaís de Máguez has been the most awarded with three medals for its Cenizas del Volcán 2023, La Grieta (Volcanic Malvasia) 2024 and La Grieta Tinto (Night Harvest) 2023 wines. For its part, Bodegas Martinón has been recognized with a gold for its Lágrima Martinón 2023, as has Bodega La Geria, with Manto Diego 2023 and Bodega Erupción with its Milagro de Magmasía Selección 2022.
As for the silver medals, they have been awarded to Bodega Erupción for its Chinija Salvaje 2024 and to Producciones Arráez Bravo for Lágrima de Malvasía Volcánica 2024, thus completing the extraordinary record of Lanzarote wines in this competition.
The success in CINVE 2025 adds to the excellent trajectory that Lanzarote wines have been developing in recent years in different national and international competitions, where the peculiarity of its heroic viticulture and the unique personality of its wines continue to capture the attention of the most demanding experts.
“These awards are the result of the commitment, effort and passion with which our wineries work every day. The quality of our wines continues to consolidate Lanzarote as a wine region of reference in the international arena”, emphasizes Jorge Rodríguez, president of the DOP Vinos de Lanzarote Regulatory Council.
