The Regulatory Council of the Designation of Origin Vinos de Lanzarote celebrates the international successes achieved by the wineries La Geria and El Grifo, which have been recognized in two of the most prestigious competitions in the oenological scene.

These are the AWC Vienna 2025 and EcoVino contests in Logroño, whose awards "reaffirm the excellence, international projection and commitment to the sustainability of Lanzarote wines".

Bodega La Geria has obtained a silver medal for its La Geria Tinto Ecológico wine and a special mention for its Manto Malvasía Volcánica Seco in the AWC Vienna contest, which this year brought together 4,572 wines from 39 countries.

"The AWC Vienna is one of the most important wine competitions on the international circuit. Its demanding blind tasting system and high participation make it a benchmark for measuring excellence in global wine production," explain from the Council.

For its part, Bodegas El Grifo has been awarded a gold in the EcoVino contest for its proposal of Experiencia de Vendimia Tablero de Uga – Finca Ramón, which "combines wine tourism, tradition and sustainability in a unique environment".

The EcoVino contest, a national benchmark in the promotion of organic wines, is held annually with the aim of giving visibility to wine projects that are committed to responsible, sustainable and quality production. Participation in the contest is restricted exclusively to wines with organic certification, "which reinforces the value of the recognition obtained by Bodegas El Grifo".

From the Regulatory Council of the Designation of Origin Vinos de Lanzarote, they highlight the work of the wineries and producers, since "these triumphs are a reflection of the commitment and dedication of all of them in the elaboration of exceptional wines, which have been recognized for their quality and excellence in renowned competitions at national and international level".

La Geria and El Grifo thus consolidate Lanzarote's position on the international wine map, raising the prestige of island viticulture and demonstrating that sustainability and quality can go hand in hand.
