Lanzarote wines win four gold medals and one silver in Madrid

The awards have been granted by the International Wine, Vermouth and Spirits Competition Bacchus 2024

Lanzarote wines have obtained three gold medals and one silver medal in the XXII edition of the International Competition Wines, Vermouths and Spirits Bacchus 2024, held between April 15 and 19 in Madrid.

The golds have gone to the wine Esencia Yaiza 2023, from Vega De Yuco, to the Vulcano Malvasía Volcánica Seco 2023, from the Vulcano Winery of Lanzarote S.L. and to the wines Canari and Malvasía Lías 2018 from the El Grifo Winery. The silver has been achieved by the wine Lágrima de Malvasía Volcánica 2023, from Producciones Arráez Bravo.

In total, ten wines from the Canary Islands have been awarded. Among them, the highest award went to Las Vetas 2019 (DOP El Hierro) which obtained a Grand Gold.

In addition to the aforementioned Lanzarote wines, Pagos de Reverón Blanco Seco Mavi 2023, from Bodega Reverón (DOP Abona); Vera Pinto 2021, from Bodega El Mirador de Adra (DOP El Hierro); Gran Salmor Blanco Dulce 2017, from the Sociedad Cooperativa del Campo Frontera (DOP El Hierro); and CAN 2022, from Bodegas Tajinaste S.L. (DOP Valle de La Orotava) also obtained gold.

Montoro Blanco Barrica 2022, produced by Mario Rodríguez Mendoza (DOP La Gomera), also obtained a Silver medal.

The jury of this competition is made up of journalists, sommeliers, oenologists, Masters of Wine and Masters of Sommelier, who are responsible for evaluating and recognizing the exceptional quality of the participating wines.
