The Ministry of Agriculture, through the Canarian Institute of Agri-Food Quality (ICCA), has called for aid for the transformation and bottling of wines with Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), and for the improvement of competitiveness in foreign marketing, both corresponding to the Community Program to Support Agricultural Production in the Canary Islands (POSEI).
These lines of support are financed with 279,925 euros from the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (EAGF). The amount to be granted will be 0.24 euros per liter qualified, bottled and labeled during 2024 in any of the PDOs of the Canary Islands.
In addition, it is planned to grant 0.70 euros per liter of wine protected by any of the PDOs of the archipelago, marketed in foreign markets in 2024.
Applications to access these grants will be submitted through the corresponding management bodies, that is, the Regulatory Councils, from January 1 to 31, 2025.
The forms to make the application are available on the electronic headquarters of the Government of the Canary Islands. Producers operating in more than one PDO must submit a request for each of them.
In the event that applications are submitted outside the aforementioned period, they will be considered for management and payment if they enter the Administration within 25 calendar days following the end of the application submission period, with a reduction of the aid to be granted of 1% for each business day that is different from January 31.
