The number of companies created in Canary Islands increased by 25.4% in December compared to the same month in 2024, reaching 493, according to data published this Wednesday by the National Statistics Institute (INE).
The capital subscribed on their behalf rose, in total, to 8.81 million euros, according to the latest Statistics on Commercial Companies prepared by the INE.
Which details that, on the other hand, another 179 companies that existed in the archipelago were dissolved in the last month of 2025.
Month in which, in the whole of Spain, 11,719 commercial companies were created, 24.2% more than in December 2024, with a subscribed capital that reached 768.54 million euros, which registered an annual increase of 28.2%.
While the number of commercial companies dissolved in the country grew by 11.4% year-on-year, standing at 3,614.
