Between January and October, Yaiza and Arrecife have been the municipalities with the greatest dynamism in the records of new contributors to Social Security.

The southern municipality has gone from 8,175 contributors in January to 8,800 in October, which is equivalent to a growth of 7.1%, according to the Lanzarote Data Center.

The capital of the island, on the other hand, has gone from having 30,070 contributors in January to 32,045 in October, which is equivalent to a percentage growth of 6.16%.

The mayor of Arrecife, Jonathan de León, has attributed this growth to the direct municipal investments of the City Council, both in public works and in social and commercial revitalization

De León believes that these actions are “achieving the reactivation of the capital and the opening of new businesses or the construction of new buildings for commercial or residential activity.”

The City Council of the capital highlights that it has investments in the neighborhoods with about 15 million euros, to which are added more than 5 million euros in new works and equipment for the renovation of sports facilities, some in execution, and others in adjudication phases.

The Arrecife consistory also attributes the growth to the arrival of more cruises, which "generates a direct impact on the economy of the hotel, transport, tourist guide and commerce sectors of the island."

After Arrecife, there is Haría, where affiliations grew by 6.05% to a total of 2,365 in October, while in Tinajo the increase was 5.7% to a total of 3,290.

San Bartolomé closed October with an increase of 4.8% compared to January and 9,435 contributors, while in Teguise the growth was 3.26% to 10,920 affiliates.

The lowest percentage growth in the number of affiliates has occurred in Tías where it has been 2.53% to a total of 9,305 contributors.
