Unemployment in Lanzarote has been decreasing for four consecutive months

Unemployment in Lanzarote has been decreasing for four consecutive months. In the last twelve months, 700 unemployed people from the island have joined the workforce. The largest percentage decrease is in Haría and the smallest in Yaiza.

In June, 28 people left the unemployment lists in Lanzarote, bringing the total number of unemployed on the island to 7,036 people.

Thus, there are already 700 people who have joined the workforce and left their unemployment situation on the island in the last twelve months, 9% less than in June 2024.

In Arrecife, unemployment decreased in June by 25 people to a total of 3,539 and accumulates a 10% decrease in the last twelve months.

It also decreased in Tías by 28 people to a total of 714 unemployed, which is 11% less than a year ago.

In San Bartolomé, 21 people left the unemployment lists in June, bringing the total number of unemployed in the batatero municipality to 836, 4.1% less than in June 2024.

In Haría, unemployment decreased by 4 people to a total of 268 unemployed, 14.6% lower than the figure of twelve months ago.

In Tinajo, there were no changes in June and the figure remained at 292 unemployed, 11.2% less than a year ago.

On the other hand, unemployment rose in June in Teguise, thirteen more unemployed to a total of 809, and especially in Yaiza, where 63 more people joined the unemployment list in June, bringing the total of the southern municipality to 578 unemployed, a meager 1.7% less than twelve months ago.
