Nearly 200 people have left the unemployment lists in Lanzarote in December, according to the Canarian Employment Observatory (Obecan).
With an unemployment decrease of 2.6%, the number of unemployed on the island amounts to 7,267 people, which is equivalent to 194 fewer unemployed compared to the previous month.
Compared to a year ago, unemployment has decreased on the island by 8.3%, equivalent to 656 fewer people in unemployment.
The largest decreases compared to November have been recorded in Tinajo and Yaiza, where unemployment has fallen by 7.4% respectively, equivalent to 25 fewer unemployed, and 7.2%, which means 40 fewer unemployed in the south. Thus, Tinajo currently has 313 unemployed and Yaiza 515.

Next, unemployment has decreased more in San Bartolomé (-3.9%), equivalent to 33 fewer unemployed, so the number of unemployed in the municipality remains at 815 people.
Followed by Tías, where the decrease in unemployment has been 3.6%. There are 28 fewer unemployed than in November, so the total for the municipality amounts to 756 people.
In Haría, unemployment fell by 2% in December, which means 10 fewer people in unemployment compared to the previous month. Its total number of unemployed remains at 301 people.
Also in Teguise, the decrease in unemployment is equivalent to 2% in December, which is equivalent to 18 fewer people in unemployment, so the total for the municipality amounts to 875 unemployed.
The smallest percentage decrease on the island occurred in Arrecife, which, with a decrease of 1.1%, reduced its unemployment by 60 people to 3,692 unemployed.
