Unemployment decreases in Lanzarote by more than 200 people in April

Unemployment decreased in six of the island's seven municipalities and fell more among women

Unemployment lists in Lanzarote were reduced by 206 people during the month of April to a total of 7,152 unemployed.

The percentage decrease in April was 2.8%, which rises to 8.6% compared to the same month last year when the number of unemployed amounted to 7,824 people.

The number of unemployed fell more among women (-3.2%) to a total of 4,089 unemployed. Among men, the decrease was 2.3% to a total of 3,063 unemployed.

Unemployment fell in all municipalities except Yaiza, where it rose by 1.3%, that is, 7 more people unemployed.

Haría experienced the largest percentage drop in April, 5.7%, which represents a decrease of 17 people on its unemployment lists.

In Teguise and San Bartolomé the decrease was 5.2% and 5.1% respectively, which is equivalent to 43 and 46 fewer people in unemployment.

In Tinajo it decreased by 4.3%, that is, 13 fewer workers unemployed, while in Tías, the decrease was 2.6%, which is equivalent to 20 fewer people in unemployment.

The smallest percentage decrease among the municipalities that gained employment occurred in Arrecife, where it was 2%, equivalent to 74 workers.
