Social Security contributors in Arrecife increased by more than 2,000 people during 2023

Between January and December 2023, the number of Social Security contributors increased by 2,344 people in Arrecife to 30,396 workers, 42.8% of the total on the island.

Parallel to these Social Security data, unemployment in the capital was reduced by more than 13%, reaching historical records in job creation.

The mayor of the city, Yonathan de León, was pleased with these "significant levels of job opportunities with the opening of new businesses, and the implementation of new companies in the city".

The mayor highlighted the opening of new companies linked to lodging tourism and new commercial surfaces on Tenderete street. He also stressed that the public works investment plan in the capital is generating new employment in the construction sector.

Similarly, the Councilor for Tourism, Commerce and Sports, Eli Merino, has stressed that "the dynamization actions implemented in the municipality make it possible for companies to grow and create new jobs".

According to the city council of the capital, "the Open Commercial Zone of Arrecife, and the emerging commercial zone in the Argana Alta neighborhood, is concentrating the opening of new businesses".
