Lanzarote approaches 75,000 Social Security contributors

The number of members affiliated to the Public Institute has been growing for seven consecutive months on the island

Last July, Lanzarote added 375 new contributors to Social Security, reaching a total of 74,725 members, according to the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics (ISTAC).

The island has thus accumulated seven consecutive months of increases in the number of members, with nearly 2,000 more contributors than at the beginning of the year

The municipality where the number of contributors increased the most was Yaiza, where 145 people joined the Public Institute's lists, reaching a total of 8,635.

In Arrecife, there were 85 more, reaching 31,165 contributors, while in Haría, 45 people joined, totaling 2,305 members in the north of the island. 

Tías and Teguise recorded 35 and 30 more contributors, respectively, reaching totals of 9,270 in the first and 10,845 in the second

In San Bartolomé, there were 20 more contributors, reaching 9,285, and in Tinajo, 15, totaling 3,220 members affiliated with Social Security.
