The Chamber of Lanzarote and La Graciosa will be an active part of the specialized collaboration network of the REACTÍVATE: Second Chance Program for Self-Employed program, an initiative of support and Second Chance aimed at self-employed workers in the Canary Islands who are experiencing economic, financial, or business difficulties.

Promoted by the Ministry of Economy, Industry, Trade and Self-Employed of the Government of the Canary Islands, through the Society for Economic Development of the Canary Islands (SODECAN), and financed by the Canary Islands Employment Service (SCE), this project offers a comprehensive and free service adapted to the specific needs of each business.

The program is aimed at self-employed individuals registered in the Canary Islands with more than three years of professional experience who are in a delicate situation, as well as those self-employed workers who have ceased their activity but continue to carry debts or complications arising from their former business.

Through this alliance, the Chamber of Commerce brings to the self-employed individuals of Lanzarote and La Graciosa a confidential and close space to analyze their financial and operational status. The fundamental objective is to guide the professional in assessing the most appropriate path, without the beneficiary needing to know in advance the technical solution required for their case.

Two courses of action adapted to the situation of each case

The program articulates its support around two lines of work designed according to the reality of each project. The “Save your business” path is aimed at activities that retain recovery potential, focusing on strengthening the company, restructuring its operations, and ensuring its continuity in the local economic fabric.

In the event that continuity is no longer viable or the business has closed, the “New opportunity” line accompanies the professional in assessing exit options and provides legal guidance to process the Second Chance Law in cases with outstanding debts.

José Valle, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, highlights the strategic value of this resource: “Self-employed workers are a fundamental piece in the economy of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, but they are also the ones who suffer economic uncertainty periods with greater intensity. Joining the REACTÍVATE network allows us to offer them a close, professional, and cost-free safety net, with the aim of saving viable projects or allowing an orderly exit that opens the door to new opportunities”.

The program's collaborative network brings together the Chambers of Commerce of the archipelago, business confederations, the National Federation of Self-Employed Associations (ATA), professional lawyer associations, and financial entities, articulating a coordinated response for the self-employed sector.

All orientation, specialized training, and restructuring support services contemplated in REACTÍVATE are totally free for beneficiaries. Self-employed workers in Lanzarote and La Graciosa interested in analyzing their situation can request support on the program portal or contact the Chamber directly by phone at 928 82 41 61 or by email at reactivate@camaralanzarote.org.
