The Ministry of Tourism and Employment of the Government of the Canary Islands, through the Canary Islands Employment Service (SCE), has published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC) the call for subsidies destined to finance Integrated Labor Insertion Itineraries Projects (PIIIL) endowed with six million euros and co-financed at 85% by the European Social Fund.

The Minister of Tourism and Employment, Jéssica de León, highlighted the social vocation of this call that "can be requested by non-profit entities that promote projects to promote the active inclusion of unemployed people with special difficulties." Applications can be submitted for ten business days until November 5.

The first line of aid is aimed at supporting the hiring of people at risk of social exclusion or at risk of suffering it and will have an investment of 4.1 million euros. The second, aimed at migrants, adds a global amount of 459,000 euros, and the last, with 1.3 million euros, is intended to support people with physical, mental and sensory disabilities, in accordance with the provisions of the Law on equal opportunities, non-discrimination and universal accessibility for people with disabilities, a priority group for the regional Executive.

According to the Minister, the labor insertion of 588 unemployed people in a situation or risk of social exclusion will be promoted. "The objective is to continue helping people in vulnerable situations by offering training actions so that they can develop a job and access a job in accordance with their skills," she said. Priority will be given to women and victims of gender violence.

For her part, the director of the SCE, María Teresa Ortega, said that "the beneficiaries will obtain the appropriate knowledge and practices that improve their professional training, favoring access to employment through the delivery of professional certificates, among other actions."

In addition, she added that "once the call is resolved, we will know how many projects will be responsible for accompanying people in a situation of social exclusion or at risk of suffering it on their way to labor insertion."
