Programa de inserción laboral en 2019 en Canarias

The Canary Employment Service (SCE) has published the advance call for subsidies aimed at the development of labor insertion programs for the year 2026.

This initiative, endowed with a budget of four million euros, seeks to encourage the hiring of unemployed people by public or private non-profit entities for the execution of services of general and social interest.

The call for applications, published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC), establishes that the projects will have a maximum duration of ten months. Contracts can be full-time or part-time, with a minimum workload of 75% compared to ordinary hours. As a measure to promote inclusion, 30% of the budget (1.2 million euros) has been specifically reserved for projects that hire 70% or more of workers with disabilities.

For the Minister of Tourism and Employment, Jéssica de León, "this call is a strategic tool to connect the social needs of our islands with the creation of quality employment".

“By supporting non-profit organizations, we not only improve the employability of people facing greater insertion difficulties, but we also strengthen the services that directly benefit the well-being of Canary Islanders,” stated the minister.

For her part, the director of the Canary Employment Service, María Teresa Ortega, highlighted that "this program guarantees the **full coverage of participants' salary and social security costs**, allowing entities to focus on the technical and human management of the projects".

Interested entities, which must be registered in the SCE Applicant Register, may submit their applications exclusively electronically throughout February 2026. The maximum amount per entity has been set at €300,000 to ensure diversity and prevent the territorial concentration of aid

This initiative by the SCE consolidates the commitment of the Canary Islands Government to active employment policies, aligning with Royal Decree 818/2021 and the state regulatory bases for the improvement of social protection and the promotion of hiring.
