The Arrecife City Council has published on the Electronic Headquarters' Notice Board the list of people who have been admitted to take the tests for obtaining the Municipal Taxi Driver's Permit of ArrecifeA total of 68 people, the largest turnout in the history of the taxi in this municipality, have been summoned for these tests that will take place next Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 9 a.m., in the auditorium of the Municipal Archive of Arrecife, in the vicinity of the Town Hall.On the Electronic Headquarters, you will find the list of the names of the 68 people registered in the final list and the names of the members of the examining tribunal. Applicants must attend with the original of their ID card, and a blue pen for taking the examThe Municipal Government of Arrecife, led by Mayor Yonathan de León, set as one of the priorities of the Government's action strengthening public transport in the city, both in the public taxi service and in the Municipal Bus Transport, with the implementation of different measures, several of them already underway since last yearThe Department of Transport and Mobility, led by councilor Mario González Altube, has been carrying out different calls for the obtaining of the Municipal Taxi Driver's Permit of Arrecife, which allows covering the demand and covering the different shifts.
Together with other taxi professionals, the City Council has launched during this term a line of aid to the sector to enable the fleet to be adapted for travelers with PMR, and has established, with good organizational results, a rotating taxi shift in the city, on cruise days.
Councilman González Altube continues "planning more actions that contribute to a substantial improvement of the public taxi service in the city of Arrecife, combined with better lines and schedules for the Urban Buses, which in the coming weeks will debut modern electric vehicles".
