The number of members affiliated with Social Security in Lanzarote amounted to 74,135 people in May, 3,570 more than a year ago, that is, 5% more, according to the Lanzarote Data Center based on ISTAC statistics.
Of the total number of people affiliated with Social Security on the island, 31,015 are in Arrecife, which added 2,180 more contributors in the last year, 7% more. Next is Yaiza, where the number of members rose 6.8% to 8,475 members.
Between both municipalities, they added 2,725 new contributors, which is equivalent to 76% of all the people who registered with the Public Institute in the last twelve months.
The third municipality that has grown the most in the number of contributors has been San Bartolomé, whose number of citizens registered with Social Security increased by 3.4% to 9,225.
In Teguise, the growth has been 2.5% reaching 10,780 members last May, while in Tías it is equivalent to 1.9% and adds 9,165 contributors.
In Tinajo and Haría, the growth has been 2% and 0.89% respectively, reaching 3,215 contributors in Tinajo and 2,260 in the north.
