Almost 70% of the applicants who have taken the unified competitive examinations called for entry into the Local Police Corps of the Canary Islands have been declared "unfit in the psychometric test" that they took on August 19; specifically 783 out of 1,135.
The Lanzarote town councils included in the call are Arrecife (which leads the island's offer with 8 positions), Tías (with 6 positions), Teguise (3 positions), Haría (2 positions), and Yaiza (2 positions).
The five Lanzarote town councils have delegated to the Government of the Canary Islands the selection of a package of 21 Local Police positions to alleviate the staff deficit that municipal security forces on the island are experiencing.
According to a resolution from the Directorate General of Studies and Training of the Government of the Canary Islands published this Monday, September 21, the qualifying tribunal will only approve fit candidates for the public employment they aspire to, out of 352 applicants, 31% of the total.
In this unified call, 180 public employment positions were offered in the Local Police forces of 30 town councils on the islands.
As it is an elimination test, the decision of the qualifying tribunal implies that now only two applicants remain per offered position, when the elimination knowledge exams and medical examinations are still to be held.
