The lack of workers in the island's hotels is a recurring issue among businessmen. A matter that is further aggravated in the most stressed areas of the island where it is extremely difficult to find housing at reasonable prices.

One of those areas is Playa Blanca, where the new Barceló hotel recently opened, which has launched a campaign that gives 500 euros to each worker who gets a friend, family member or acquaintance to join the hotel.

To collect the prize, the new worker must remain in the hotel for at least six months. The promotion will be applied throughout the month of March

Maysa Ághattas, assistant to the hotel's management, explained to La Voz that "there is a lot of talk about the campaign in the different departments of the hotel. Employees say it is a good opportunity and that they know people who are interested," she added.

The Barceló Playa Blanca Resort hotel is the largest hotel establishment in Lanzarote, consisting of 720 rooms and 1,400 beds. It also expands over an area of 100,000 square meters.
