Around 1,600 young residents in Lanzarote turn eighteen throughout this year and are entitled to benefit from a new edition of the Youth Cultural Voucher.
This aid, promoted by the Ministry of Culture and managed in the distribution of its prepaid cards through Correos, grants 400 euros directly to each beneficiary to facilitate access to culture among young people and, at the same time, inject liquidity into the fabric of the creative industries, bookstores, cinemas, theaters, and affiliated businesses.
Half of the allocation must be spent on so-called live arts, meaning tickets for performing arts, cinema, museums, exhibitions, or music festivals.
On the other hand, one hundred euros are reserved for the acquisition of cultural products in physical format, a category that includes the purchase of books, newspapers, magazines, records, or video games in traditional format. The remaining one hundred euros are granted for digital consumption and online services, covering subscriptions to audiovisual platforms, music streaming, digital press, publications, or online video games.
The management of the process is completely telematic and is carried out exclusively through the official portal enabled by the Ministry of Culture.
To access the call, it is necessary to possess Spanish nationality, legal residence, asylum seeker status, or be a temporary displaced person, in addition to having been born in 2008.
Identification to complete the form requires the use of Cl@ve or a digital certificate, although young people who have not yet reached the age of majority at the time of application can carry out the process represented by their father, mother, or legal guardian.
Once the concession has been reviewed and approved by the administration, beneficiaries receive a prepaid card issued by Correos, available in virtual format for mobile devices or in physical format by postal mail. From the moment of issuance, each young person has a maximum period of twelve months to use the funds in the cultural establishments and services affiliated with the program.
