The Yaiza Town Hall has just published the tender for the execution of the library and sociocultural center project of Playa Blanca with a base budget of 3.9 million euros.
This tender to build the library is launched after the previous tender that the southern town hall carried out to draft the project for a value of 74,000 euros.
Now it is about the construction of a two-story building, on a plot of 3,800 square meters located near the CEO Montaña Roja, which the Administration presided over by Óscar Noda assumes "one hundred percent with municipal resources", according to the mayor himself, also highlighting "the fulfillment of a commitment made with the population, education and culture".
The new library is planned around a large central space conceived for its main use: reading and social interaction. The building includes a reading room for adults, another reading room for boys and girls, a hall for events or cultural celebrations, a terrace, administration, a cafeteria, restrooms, and common services, with a layout that balances the silence necessary for reading with the open and public nature of the facility.
The Town Hall's objective is to "provide citizens with a public building to promote reading and the cultural development of the community on equal terms".
"The facility is designed to offer the privacy and silence that a library requires, without detracting from the importance of meeting points alternative to the reading rooms." Companies interested in building the library can submit offers until August 24. All technical and administrative information is published on the Public Sector Procurement Platform.
