The works of the new hotel that is being built in Costa Teguise on the border with Los Ancones, have been resumed in December after almost two months of work stoppage.
The Gloria Group had bought the land through a Treasury auction and the company Millenium, former owner of the land, which had been seized, apparently, for a debt with the Treasury, reported to a judge that it had not been informed that the auction was going to take place.
In the first hearing, the court ordered the stoppage of the works, which could not be resumed until early December when a new judicial decision allowed them to be resumed.
Meanwhile, sources from the Gloria Group have confirmed to La Voz de Lanzarote that "they have lost one million euros due to the stoppage of the works for almost two months" for a matter that does not really concern them, since it is between the Treasury and the former owners.
In principle, the Gloria Group planned to have the new hotel, which will need a staff of about 250 workers, completed in 2026.
The project, with an investment of 100 million euros and a plot of 80,000 meters, is linked to health and sports tourism. In fact, it includes the construction of six swimming pools, several waterfalls and a spa.
