The production of wind energy in Lanzarote was about to reach 80,000 megawatts per hour (MWh) in 2025, which represents an increase of 17.4% compared to the previous year, when it was 65,000, according to figures provided by the Lanzarote Data Center.
The bulk of the increase is due to the recovery of the San Bartolomé wind farm which returned to operation in May of last year after several months stopped. Until the end of the year it produced 15,611 MWh.
Of the five infrastructures on the island, the highest production was achieved with the wind turbines in Arrecife, which reached 22,371 MWh in 2025, although in this case the amount of energy was lower than in the previous year, it fell by 38%, compared to the 30,931 MWh that were produced in 2024.
Secondly, the mills of Los Valles produced a total of 17,577 MWh, which represents a 41% increase in production compared to the previous year when it was 10,288 MWh.
The island's third wind infrastructure by production was the Teguise I park, where 16,834 MWh were produced last year, slightly more than the previous year when it was 16,371 MWh.
The aforementioned San Bartolomé facility ranks fourth in production volume, and the fifth and last is Punta Grande, where 6,766 MWh were obtained last year, which represents a reduction in production compared to the previous year when it was 7,726 MWh.
