The price of used cars rose in February by 4.5% compared to the same month of 2025 in the Canary Islands, standing, on average, at 12,083 euros, according to data published this Monday by the National Association of Vehicle Dealers (Ancove).

That increase in the price of passenger cars registered in the islands was proportionally greater than that recorded, on average, in Spain as a whole, where the cost of these cars experienced a year-on-year increase of 3.9%, although it remained higher than that of the archipelago, reaching 13,555 euros, the employers' association reports in a statement.

Which highlights that, in the case of passenger cars of more than eight years old, which accounted for 65.8% of total sales in February in the community, the average price in the archipelago stood at 9,429 euros, registering an 8.6% year-on-year increase.

While throughout the country, where cars over eight years old accounted for 61.5% of second-hand passenger car sales for the month, they were paid an average of 10,850 euros, with a 5.6% increase compared to February of the previous year, Ancove details.

Pointing out that the growth in the price of second-hand passenger cars over the same month of 2026 has spread in February to the majority of autonomous communities, with the two sole exceptions of Castilla La Mancha, where it became 20.2% cheaper, and La Rioja, where it fell by 0.4%.

The largest increase was registered in Aragon, where the price increase was 7.5% year-on-year, followed by Catalonia, with a 6% increase.
