Second-hand vehicle sales grew by 5.1% year-on-year in September in the Canary Islands, reaching 10,393 transferred units, according to data published this Monday by the National Association of Vehicle Dealers (Ancove).

The employers' association, in a statement, highlights, however, that these operations presented a disparate behavior in the two provinces of the archipelago, since they increased by 16% in Las Palmas but, on the contrary, decreased by 1.7% in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

And it details that the behavior of sales of the different segments of the used vehicle market was not the same either, since those of passenger cars amounted to 8,319 and recorded an increase of 7.5% compared to September 2024, while those of commercial vehicles were 2,074, 3.2% less than a year ago.

In Spain as a whole, the second-hand vehicle market experienced an average increase of 7.2% last month, according to Ancove.
