The Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, through the Biosphere Reserve, has opened the application period for competitive grants aimed at non-profit organizations that carry out their work in Lanzarote and La Graciosa, in actions aligned with the objectives of UNESCO's MaB program.
The Minister of the Biosphere Reserve, Samuel Martín, encouraged all entities working on sustainability to "submit projects linked to the awareness and dissemination of the Biosphere Reserve in line with the MaB Strategy, or that contribute to the research, conservation, and/or monitoring of terrestrial or marine biodiversity and ecosystems."
The announcement of the call was published in the Official Gazette of Las Palmas (BOP) this Wednesday the 22nd, and associations and groups have ten business days to submit their initiatives, that is, from tomorrow, Thursday, July 23rd, until August 3rd. As a novelty, maximum amounts of 15,000 euros will be awarded to increase the number of organizations that can benefit from these grants, whose initial budget is 76,730 euros, with the possibility of extension.
The award will be granted after evaluating the submitted applications, following the criteria established in the bases, which can be consulted in the BOP of September 8, 2025. Proposals focused on the conservation and maintenance of the island landscape; actions that favor the restoration of degraded spaces and ecosystems; projects that promote sustainable and/or circular economy, those that promote land stewardship, and those that contribute to the conservation and environmental monitoring of soils will also be valued.
Interested entities have all the information and can submit documentation through the electronic headquarters of the Cabildo of Lanzarote.
