The Ministry of the Presidency, Public Administrations, Justice and Security, headed by Nieves Lady Barreto, continues to develop the training workshops of the ‘Asóciat-e’ project, an initiative promoted by the Directorate General of Transparency and Citizen Participation to strengthen the capacities of Canary Islands associations and facilitate their relationship with public Administration.
The latest sessions took place in Caleta de Sebo, in La Graciosa, on June 9, and in Arrecife, Lanzarote, on June 10, with the participation of representatives from different citizen entities interested in improving their management tools and learning about the support resources made available to them by the Government of the Canary Islands.
During the workshops, practical issues related to the updating of bylaws, the document management of associations, the use of the electronic headquarters, and other administrative procedures of interest to non-profit entities were addressed.
The meetings were presided over by the Director General of Transparency and Citizen Participation, Carmen Delia Alberto, who highlighted "the importance of continuing to bring the Administration closer to citizens through initiatives that strengthen the associative fabric of the archipelago".
In this regard, she recalled the launch in 2025 of the support service for associations through the 012, a guidance and support tool designed to resolve doubts and facilitate administrative procedures.
“Our objective is to strengthen the capacities of the associative fabric and bring the Administration closer to citizens, offering resources that allow entities to carry out their work with greater security, autonomy, and knowledge of administrative procedures,” she pointed out.
For her part, the councilor for Citizen Participation of the Arrecife City Council, Cathaysa Suárez, highlighted the importance of continuing to promote citizen participation. “These actions allow associations to have more tools to develop their activity and face the administrative and organizational challenges of their day-to-day with greater guarantees,” she affirmed.
The ‘Asóciat-e’ program will conclude its current cycle of workshops on June 17 in Breña Alta, La Palma, where the last session planned before the closing of this edition will be held.
