The Teguise Town Hall approves the regulatory bases for the operation and award of authorizations for the sales stalls of the Teguise Old Town Christmas Market 2026, which will be held between December 3 and 8 in different areas of the historic center.
As in previous campaigns, this is a joint initiative of the municipal departments of Commerce and Tourism. The call includes 35 stalls distributed in three categories: eight stalls for crafts, 17 for other Christmas-related products, gifts, and artisanal items, and ten spaces for hospitality and gastronomic offerings. Additionally, within this last category, five mobile carts and four food trucks that meet the requirements established in the bases may participate.
The mayor, Olivia Duque, highlights that "the Christmas Market is an opportunity to continue revitalizing La Villa and create a space that combines commercial activity, leisure, and tourist attraction during dates that are especially important for the citizens." "We want this market to contribute to valuing the municipality's commerce, crafts, and gastronomy, while at the same time offering residents and visitors an attractive proposal to enjoy La Villa and its heritage during the December long weekend," she adds.
For her part, the Councilor for Commerce, Nieves Martínez, encourages merchants, artisans, and hospitality professionals to participate in this new edition. "The bases aim to guarantee a varied and quality offering, with differentiated categories and clear criteria for awarding the stalls," she points out.
Martínez recalls that in the case of the crafts category, it is necessary to be registered in the Official Crafts Registry of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, while participants offering gastronomic products must comply with the corresponding health and food handling requirements.
The market will be set up in the Plaza de la Constitución, Plaza Clavijo y Fajardo, and Plaza Maciot de Bethencourt, with a general schedule from 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM, except on Sunday, December 6, when it will open from 10:00 AM. The City Council provides the awardees with an independent wooden stall measuring 3 meters wide by 2 meters deep, equipped with an electrical outlet and interior lighting, an exterior sign with the stall name, and nighttime security in the outdoor area.
The award of the stalls will be made according to the order of submission of applications in the general entry register, provided that the requirements and conditions established in the bases are met.
