The Tourist Centers have launched this Tuesday morning a new minibus that will replace the one that currently transports the staff of the Tourist Centers. It is a Volkswagen Crafter 50 Van 2.0 TDI with Extra Long Chassis of 163 HP and capacity for 16 passengers plus the driver, which will be dedicated to the transfer of workers of the entity to and from their jobs.
This service was launched more than three decades ago with the objectives of organizing the access of the staff to their workplaces and, at the same time, reducing vehicle traffic on the island's roads since it is an effective alternative to individual transport.
“This new bus, safer and more comfortable, allows us to offer a more modern and efficient service that also helps us reduce the carbon footprint on the planet,” said the Entity's counselor, Ángel Vázquez. “We will continue working to have a fleet of vehicles that is increasingly committed to sustainability and the health of ecosystems,” he said.
The new bus has had a cost of 63,693.94 euros, financed through the Canary Islands Development Fund managed by the Planning and Project Coordination area led by the vice president of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, María Jesús Tovar, "EPEL-CACT Programs included in the Lanzarote 2016-2025 Strategy” (FDCAN) of Program 2.8.5. Sustainable Mobility.
