The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) has provisionally granted 27.7 million euros from the European recovery funds to several Canary Island municipalities to decarbonize and digitize urban mobility.
The amount destined to the islands is part of the 1,000 million euros that will be distributed among 170 municipalities and 2 supramunicipal entities throughout Spain, whose provisional award was reported last Wednesday by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, which has detailed this Thursday the information in a statement.
The provisional resolution of the 2021 call for aid to municipalities for the implementation of low emission zones and the sustainable transformation of urban transport, included in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), has been published on the electronic headquarters of Mitma and the city councils now have 5 working days to present allegations or renounce to the funds.
The program is aimed at municipalities with more than 50,000 inhabitants, provincial capitals and municipalities with more than 20,000 inhabitants that meet a series of requirements, such as having an urban public transport system.
