The Canary Islands Citizen's Income (RCC), aimed at the most vulnerable people and families, will increase by 9% from the next January payroll, as reported this Tuesday in a statement by the Ministry of Social Welfare of the regional government.

The exact amount of the increase varies depending on each case because, unlike other benefits, it depends on the type of cohabitation unit, but ranges from the 604.21 euros received by a single adult to the 658.81 euros they will receive in the January payroll (54.6 euros gross more); to the difference of 1,462.20 euros received in 2024 by single-parent families with four or more dependent children, who in 2025 will receive 1,594.33 (132.33 gross more).

The RCC is an economic benefit designed to prevent the risk of poverty and social exclusion in those households that lack basic resources, with the aim of guaranteeing a minimum level of income so that the beneficiaries can cover essential needs and aspire to greater social and labor inclusion.

While last year the increase established through the Council of Ministers was charged retroactively in February, from the Ministry of Social Welfare, Equality, Youth, Children and Families of the Government of the Canary Islands, specifically from the General Directorate of Social Services and Inclusion, all necessary efforts have been made to ensure that this increase is already included in the next payroll.
