Under the brand “Canarias Islas de moda” promoted by Proexca, a brand from Lanzarote and three from Gran Canaria are participating this week in MOMAD, the international fashion, footwear, and accessories fair that is being held from July 23 to 25 in IFEMA Madrid.

In this edition, the Canary Islands are attending with the Lanzarote swimwear firm Macaronesia and its Gran Canaria counterparts Pedro Palmas, Mommy Love, and Elena Morales, who will present their collections to national and international buyers and professionals.

The Canary Islands' participation has the collaboration of Gran Canaria Moda Cálida and Lanzarote Moda, the programs of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and Lanzarote to support the textile sector. As part of the program, the Canary Islands firms showed their proposals yesterday and will do so again today in another fashion show.

The councillor for Industry of the Insular Council of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, Aroa Revelo, commented that the presence of the Macaronesia brand at MOMAD demonstrates the great moment that Lanzarote fashion is experiencing. “We have firms that stand out for their creativity, their quality, and their own identity that makes them different and competitive.

From the Cabildo de Lanzarote, we will continue to bet on accompanying our designers in their growth, opening doors for them in the main national and international showcases so that they can turn their talent into new business opportunities. Fashion is industry, it generates employment and projects the image of Lanzarote to the world.”

Proexca coordinates, together with the Cabildos, the brand “Canarias Islas de Moda” to go out with more visibility and strength abroad, a strategic plan focused on 5 axes: training, foreign marketing, positioning, sustainability, and logistics. The objective is to increase the specific weight of textiles in the Canary Islands' GDP to diversify the island economy, promoting companies to international fairs and showrooms.

With this participation, Proexca reinforces its commitment to the internationalization of Canary Islands fashion, giving visibility to the archipelago's brands in one of the main commercial showcases of the sector in Spain. The Canary Islands are experiencing a moment of profound transformation, betting on internationalization, sustainability (slow fashion), and the coordinated support of regional and island institutions.
