Retail sales at constant prices rose by 1.2% in July compared to the same month in 2025 in the Canary Islands, one of the thirteen autonomous communities where they increased, while they fell in the remaining four, according to data published this Friday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
In Spain as a whole, however, sales in the sector experienced, on average, a slight decrease of 0.2%, according to the latest Retail Trade Indices report prepared by the INE.
Which reveals that, in the case of the Canary Islands, employment also grew in retail trade from July to July, with the volume of personnel employed in it being 1.3% higher than a year ago.
