The Lanzarote Water Consortium has formally approved the final resolution by which 148,139.64 euros in subsidies are granted to subsidize the cost of water for primary sector professionals on the island.
The subsidies have been awarded on a competitive basis from the island's budget, and the list of beneficiary farmers has been published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas (BOP) this Friday, August 14.
The priority objective of this economic effort is to actively support the agricultural and fishing sector, protecting employment and alleviating the significant impact of the cost of supply water on farms.
From the island institution, they indicate that this allocation seeks to ensure that the water surcharge does not pose an obstacle to the viability of the countryside, helping to preserve a production model directly linked to the territory, the conservation of the traditional landscape, and the identity of Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
In the ruling signed by the acting president, Miguel Ángel Jiménez Cabrera, the economic allocations corresponding to the applications that have fully complied with the regulatory bases are established. At the same time, the rejected requests are included for failing to meet the established requirements, not rectifying errors within the legal deadline, or providing insufficient documentation according to the file's assessments.
Once the list is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas, as well as on the electronic headquarters and the notice board of the Water Consortium itself, the island entity will proceed to complete the appropriate accounting and administrative procedures to make the effective payment of the funds to the beneficiaries.
