The Canary Islands Government, through the Canary Institute of Agrifood Quality (ICCA), has announced the subsidies for 2025 aimed at ‘Organic agriculture, commitments to agro-environmental management in organic agriculture’ provided for in the Strategic Plan of the Common Agricultural Policy (PEPAC) 2023-2027.

This support line, co-financed by European funds, by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food Sovereignty, through the ICCA budgets, and by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, has a budget allocation of 442,000 euros for the year 2025 and aims to finance the adoption of organic production methodologies that guarantee long-term sustainable agriculture and livestock farming, as well as the protection of natural resources

Within the framework of these aids, commitments to adopt or maintain the **organic farming practices and methods defined in the EU Regulation on organic production and labeling**, as well as the specific technical standards relating to them, will be eligible for subsidies

Both in maintenance and conversion to organic farming, this line covers dryland and irrigated herbaceous crops, dry fruit, pome fruit, and stone fruit trees, citrus fruits, subtropical fruits, bananas, outdoor and greenhouse horticultural crops, vineyards, tomatoes, and organic livestock farming.

To access these grants, it is necessary for the farm to be registered in the Canary Islands Agricultural Holdings Register (REAC) or the Canary Islands Livestock Holdings Register (REGA), as appropriate, in the name of the applicant, who must also be registered in the Canary Islands Organic Production Operators File.

In this call, the aid is aimed at beneficiaries who already participated in the 2024 annual period, with the objective of continuing the commitments made in the field of organic farming.

Likewise, among other requirements, beneficiaries may not be subject to any of the prohibitions set forth in the General Subsidy Law and undertake to maintain the ownership and agricultural activity of the farm for a minimum of five years from when they receive the last subsidy

The activities may be subsidized for a period of five consecutive years from the first award of the grant, provided that the applicants comply with the required commitments and resubmit the grant application for the same activity and in the same location receiving support.

Applications will be submitted within one month from the day following the publication of the extract of this resolution in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands and the full publication on the electronic notice board of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food Sovereignty of the Government of the Canary Islands, and will adhere to the standardized models approved in this call.
