Cultural mobility. Grants. Entrepreneurship.

The Government of the Canary Islands will contribute to the mobility of artists and professionals in the cultural sector between the different islands, and also outside the archipelago, so that they can meet contracts in this area.

The Minister of Universities, Science and Innovation and Culture, Migdalia Machín, has just signed the order approving the regulations governing this new call for subsidies, which has a budget of one million euros. It will come into force once it is published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC), although it can already be consulted on the website of Culture.

This financial support is aimed at artists, creators, as well as professionals and non-profit associations, so that they can extend their artistic proposals not only within this autonomous community but also in the rest of the state or in any country in the world, provided they meet a series of requirements, including residency in the Canary Islands.

The Minister, Migdalia Machín, points out that "with this line of aid what we intend is to promote the movement of cultural activity in the eight islands, being able to nourish both the public and the artists, in addition to promoting that displacement outside the Canary Islands seeking positioning and artistic enrichment".

The following are eligible for subsidies: tours, concerts, artistic residencies, exhibitions, festivals, fairs and markets or literary presentations. Also for screenings, participation in congresses, forums or multidisciplinary meetings; as well as in research and dissemination activities of Canarian cultural heritage.

You can also apply for this support to attend any other cultural event in which they show their creations and proposals to the public in person.

The period covered by this call refers to proposals made between November 1, 2023 and October 31, 2024.

The procedure for granting subsidies will be processed under a non-competitive concurrence regime and will be granted based on the validly submitted applications that meet the established requirements once the submission period has ended, taking into account the date of receipt.
