The Governing Council of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa has approved the call for 2026 subsidies aimed at representative associative entities of the agricultural sector, with an allocation of one million euros to finance operating expenses and projects linked to the agricultural and livestock activity of the islands. The call will be processed under a non-competitive concurrence regime.
This call represents the application of the new regulatory bases definitively approved last August, which introduced improvements in financing, the payment system, eligible expenses, and the entities that can access aid.
The president of the Cabildo and councilor for Agriculture and Livestock, Oswaldo Betancort, points out that “after approving the new bases, we are putting one million euros on the table so that these improvements translate into financing for the entities in the sector. These are resources to cover real costs of their activity and to develop projects that have a direct impact on the agriculture and livestock of Lanzarote and La Graciosa”.
Betancort adds that “associativism plays a fundamental role in a territory like ours, because it allows for the sharing of resources, the improvement of producer organization, and the development of initiatives that would be much more difficult to execute individually. This call provides economic support for that work”.
Line A, intended for operating expenses, will allow financing up to 100% of the cost of the activity. Among the eligible items are rent, utilities, consulting, maintenance of spaces, travel, fuel, and personnel expenses. In general, the aid may reach 80,000 euros per entity, while for the regulatory councils of agricultural products, the maximum is set at 100,000 euros.
For its part, Line B is intended to finance projects promoted by the associative and cooperative fabric. Aid starts at 10,000 euros and can reach 28,000 euros, also incorporating increases of 3,000 euros for actions related to training, research, conservation of local varieties and native breeds, joint marketing, organic production, or the incorporation of young people. In this line, up to 90% of the cost of the activity will be financed.
The call includes, among its potential beneficiaries, agricultural and livestock associations, cooperatives, Agrarian Transformation Societies, federations of associations, irrigation communities, animal and plant health defense groups, producer organizations, and regulatory councils, among other entities in the sector.
Once the call is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas, a period of 15 business days will be opened to submit applications, which must be processed electronically through the Electronic Headquarters of the Cabildo de Lanzarote.
