New historic record of passengers at Lanzarote airport in July 2026

The César Manrique airport has surpassed 800,000 passengers for the first time in its history in the seventh month of the year

Lanzarote's César Manrique Airport recorded a total of 800,545 passengers last month, which represents 0.2% more than last year, and it is the first time that the barrier of 800,000 passengers has been surpassed in the month of July.

Canary Islands airports as a whole registered a total of 4,698,056 passengers in July, representing a growth of 1.3% compared to the same month of the previous year.

Of the total number of travelers, 4,685,799 correspond to commercial flights. Of these, 2,224,719 traveled on domestic flights, 4.3% more than in July 2025, while 2,461,080 traveled on international flights, 0.1% less.

Gran Canaria Airport registered the highest number of passengers, with 1,349,122, representing an increase of 4.9% compared to July 2025. It is followed by Tenerife South Airport, with 1,039,708 passengers (-5.0%); César Manrique-Lanzarote, with 800,545 (+0.2%); Tenerife North-Ciudad de La Laguna, with 706,962 (+6.7%); Fuerteventura, with 610,406 (-1.2%); La Palma, with 146,151 (+9.1%); El Hierro, with 32,043 (+5.1%); and La Gomera, with 13,119 (+6.9%).

Furthermore, during July, 42,068 aircraft movements were managed and 2,637 tons of cargo were transported.

In the first seven months of the year, Canary Islands airports registered 31,545,882 passengers, 0.4% less than in the same period of 2025.

Of the 31,415,484 commercial travelers, 12,871,994 traveled on domestic flights, 0.5% more, and 18,543,490 traveled on international flights, 0.7% less compared to the cumulative total of the first seven months of last year.

Between January and July, 282,879 aircraft movements were managed and 18,018 tons of cargo were transported.

 

Aena Airports in Spain

From January to July 2026, Aena's network of airports in Spain registered 190,652,815 travelers, 4% more than in the same period of 2025. This growth is slightly lower than that registered during the first seven months of 2025 compared to the same period of 2024, when traffic increased by 4.1%.

Additionally, 1,617,122 aircraft movements were operated, 4.4% more than in the same period of 2025, and 773,812 tons of cargo were transported, 2.9% more.

In July, Aena's network of airports in Spain recorded 34,406,581 passengers, 5% more than in the same month of 2025. Likewise, 284,423 aircraft movements were managed, 6.1% more, and 109,457 tons of cargo were transported, 4.5% less than in July of last year.
