The Cabildo of Lanzarote organizes this weekend Lanzarote Moda & Marina Suena, a multidisciplinary event that will fill the Plaza de las Cruces, in the Marina de Arrecife, with creativity, design, music and culture.
The event, which will take place next Friday, August 8 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, August 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., will include fashion shows, a designers' market, live interviews, photo sessions, and musical performances, with local DJs.
The design market will offer the public the possibility of acquiring local, sustainable and author products, while the fashion shows will show unpublished collections on an urban catwalk.
In addition, the live interviews and photography sessions will allow to know closely the creative processes and generate quality content for later dissemination in networks and media. The atmosphere will be accompanied by the musical sessions of DJs David Greenfish and Denis Rodd.
The initiative is part of the Cabildo's commitment to promote the creative industry and the development of a sustainable economic model based on local talent, innovation and cultural promotion of the territory.
"Lanzarote needs more spaces like this, where creativity and entrepreneurship meet with citizens. With Lanzarote Moda & Marina Suena we are committed to making our designers and creators visible, generating real growth opportunities for the sector", highlights the president of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort.
The event will bring together more than a dozen local and regional firms —such as Oswaldo Machín, Angie Vázquez, Rosa Delgado, Siliza Joyas del Fuego, Zayhan, Ángel Cabrera, Almagre or Macaronesia, among others— in a proposal that combines fashion, music and live experiences, all in an open and accessible environment.
"We are facing an innovative formula that energizes the fashion sector from a cultural and tourist perspective. It is an effective tool to generate circular economy, employment, community and destination brand", emphasizes the Councilor for Industry, Aroa Revelo.
