The Lufthansa Group has announced the cancellation of 20,000 flights until October to save 40,000 metric tons of jet fuel, whose price has doubled since the start of the conflict with Irán.
According to the German company, the majority are short-haul flights of the subsidiary CityLine. The cuts in the number of flights are being carried out in the six operating centers of the Lufthansa Group: Fráncfort, Múnich, Zúrich, Viena, Bruselas and Roma.
The airline Lufthansa itself does not have flights to Lanzarote although it does schedule them with other airlines of the group such as Brussels Airlines or Discover Airlines.
For now Lanzarote has not appeared in any of the cancellation lists that have been known but it gives an idea of how the kerosene situation is getting complicated due to the conflict between Israel and the United States against Iran,
Every day, the Lufthansa Group is canceling 120 flights. The first routes that fell departed from Frankfurt with two destinations in Poland and a third in Norway.
Lufthansa has announced that the planning of medium-term routes for the coming months is being revised taking into account the reduction in capacity and will be published at the end of April or beginning of May.
