Líneas Romero has obtained the Biosphere certificate, an international accreditation that recognizes organizations committed to sustainability in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the 2030 Agenda, as reported by the company in a statement.
"This recognition highlights the company's responsible management in the environmental, social, and economic spheres, and consolidates its commitment to a sustainable business model that is consistent with its environment," they believe.
For Federico Romero, CEO and co-owner, “this certificate is not an end point, but rather one more step within our sustainability strategy. At Líneas Romero we understand that growth only makes sense if we do it while caring for the territory, the people, and the future of the archipelago.”
Líneas Romero believes that the Biosphere certification reinforces the work of its Foundation in recent years, structured around three pillars: environmental sustainability, innovation and talent, and health and community.
"From the Foundation, we seek to transfer our values to the community, connecting business growth with the well-being of the environment. The coherence between what we do as a company and what we promote as a foundation is what gives us credibility and meaning," adds Federico Romero.
Líneas Romero has incorporated sustainability as a central pillar of its corporate strategy, advancing in the efficient renovation of its fleet, the measurement of its carbon footprint, and the implementation of energy control systems.
In addition, the company participates in collaborative intermodal mobility projects, such as Transformative Mobility, aimed at connecting the various means of transport in the Canary Islands in a more sustainable way.
"We want to lead the change towards a more sustainable, connected, and human maritime mobility. The companies of the future must be drivers of well-being in the territories where they operate, and that is the path we have chosen," Federico Romero concludes.
