The César Manrique airport exceeds 830,000 passengers in August

The Lanzarote airport counts 4,114 more passengers than in the same month last year

César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport grew slightly in August 2026, with 4,114 more passengers than in August 2025, representing an increase of approximately 0.5%. In total, the Lanzarote aerodrome registered 830,015 passengers.

Canary Islands airports registered 4,768,328 passengers in August, 0.8% more than in the same month of 2025, although in the accumulated count of the first eight months of the year they have experienced a decrease of 0.2%, as reported this Tuesday by Aena.

Of the total number of travelers in August, 4,759,141 used commercial flights, of which 2,213,956 corresponded to domestic connections, 1.2% more than a year earlier, and 2,545,185 to international ones, 1.1% more.

Gran Canaria Airport registered the highest number of passengers, with 1,334,497, 3.1% more, followed by Tenerife South, with 1,064,586 travelers, 4.2% less. They were followed by César Manrique-Lanzarote, with 830,015 passengers (+0.5%); Tenerife North-Ciudad de La Laguna, with 699,814 (+2.4%); Fuerteventura, with 640,687 (+1.9%); La Palma, with 148,857 (+7.2%); El Hierro, with 35,158 (+3.1%); and La Gomera, with 14,714 (+3%).

In addition, during August, 41,702 aircraft movements were managed and 2,341 tons of cargo were transported.

Between January and August, Canary Islands airports accumulated 36,314,210 travelers, 0.2% less than in the same period of 2025, although domestic flight passengers increased by 0.6%, to 15,085,950.

International travelers decreased by 0.5% in the first eight months of the year, to 21,088,675 passengers.

In this period, 324,581 aircraft movements were managed, 0.9% more, while cargo transport fell by 4.3%, to 20,359 tons.
